This program reminds us of themes of Romantic-era literature: the natural world, the transcendent, and the awe we feel in contemplation of both. From the shores of distant Nordic islands, through sacred halls echoing spirituals, this music invites us to reflect and ponder the bigger forces at play in our lives.
